The Notre Dame Hounds (SJHL) are pleased to announce that goaltender, Jordan Greenfield-Flemon, has accepted a scholarship to attend the University of Alaska-Anchorage (WCHA), and play for the Seawolves immediately.  With an opening occurring over the Christmas break, a spot became available, and the Seawolves came calling.

“We are excited for Jordan, as we know how hard he has worked and how far he has come. He has had quite a few schools watching him in his short period of time here, and has earned this opportunity,” said Hounds Head Coach/GM, Clint Mylymok. “Although it is tough to lose him right now, ultimately our goal as a league and program, is to move players to the next level…and we can’t always dictate the timing. We wish him the best of luck, and once again, we are proud the Hounds and SJHL have helped developed another goaltender for the NCAA.”

Grennfield-Flemon has had a meteoric rise through his brief hockey career, and the 6’4 product of Onoway, AB, has taken advantage of his opportunities thus far. The Athol Murray College of Notre Dame Graduate (’14) played two years of Jr B in Alberta (Spruce Grove and Morinville) before getting his chance to play Jr A at his Alma mater.

“I am very grateful for the opportunity Notre Dame gave me to develop and be recruited this season.  When I found out in September that I had the chance to come back and play at Notre Dame, I was ecstatic, “ Greenfield-Flemon said. “To Clint Mylymok and the coaching staff (Taras McEwen, and Rusty Abbott) thank you for believing in me and giving me a shot. I will cherish my time as a Hound, and am looking forward to the next step in my academic and athletic career.”

The Seawolves play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, and are coached by Matt Thomas. Former SJHL players Tad Kozun (Nipawin), Matt Anholt (Melfort) and Nolan Nicholas (Estevan) are currently on their roster.

Over the past 6 seasons, the SJHL has developed 17 NCAA Division 1 goaltenders.
