CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Chaz Smedsrud, Notre Dame Hounds

1998 F Chaz Smedsrud (Luverne MN USA) single handedly defeated the Flin Flon Bombers in game one of the Survivor Series on Sunday night as he notched three goals and three assists in a 6-4 decision at the Whitney Forum.  The win, on the road, gives the Hounds a 1-0 lead in the best of three as they head home with two chances to close it out. Smedsrud also had a goal in the regular season finale last week to finish with 4-goals and 7-points in 2-games played.  He had 29-goals and 32-assists in 58-games leading into the playoffs. Runner-up: Jack Flaman, Notre Dame.
