Hounds acquire Dman Hunks at deadline

The Notre Dame Hounds have acquired defenceman Liam Hunks from the Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League.

Hunks, 18, hails from Beaumont, AB, and featured in 27 BCHL games between Prince George and the Surrey Eagles this year where he notched four assists.

The 6-foot, 185-pounder posted 24 points in 35 games for the Leduc Oil Kings U18AAA a year ago in Alberta U18, and played there with Notre Dame forward Marko Djordjevic.

Hunks was called up and played six games for the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League in the 2021-22 campaign.

The Hounds sent a player development fee to the Spruce Kings in exchange.
