Hounds acquire Sauer from Oil Barons

The Notre Dame Hounds have acquired forward Ty Sauer from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, in exchange for a player development fee.

Sauer, 18, has played in 88 Junior A games split between the Camrose Kodiaks and Oil Barons, and posted 14 points over that span.

A native of Beaumont, AB, Sauer was acquired by the Oil Barons from the Kodiaks this off-season.

“Ty is a forward with two years experience in the AJHL,” said Hounds head coach and general manager Brett Pilkington.

“He will bring pace, hockey knowledge, and competitive edge to our line up each night.”

Sauer spent time in the Leduc Oil Kings, Spruce Grove Saints, and Beaumont Braves.
