Hounds’ captain Baylis commits to Amherst

Notre Dame Hounds captain Carson Baylis has committed to Amherst College for the 2024-2025 New England Small College Athletic Conference  season.

Baylis, 20, scored 76 points in 137 games in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, split between the Kindersley Klippers and the Hounds.

A native of Calgary, AB, he was acquired by Notre Dame during the 2022-2023 campaign, and was named team captain ahead of this season.

“I am super excited to be heading to Amherst College next year,” he said.

“They have a great organization, and an even better coaching staff. The campus is amazing and the school is top notch. I cannot wait for next fall to become part of the Amherst community. I know I will gain lifelong connections and learn many lessons that will help me succeed in life. I am very proud to commit Amherst and would not want to continue my education and hockey career anywhere else.”

The Mammoths of Amherst College play in NCAA Division III hockey and are located in Amherst, MA 100 miles west of Boston and the Atlantic Seaboard.

Baylis has really blossomed since the move to Wilcox, as he scored 31 goals and 61 of his points in 73 games to date in the red and white of ND.
